January Favorites // 2019

Hello 2019! How are we already a month into the year?! January is always a weird month because everyone’s holiday cheer is starting to wear off, resolutions are starting, and the weather is not so great. So it’s a whole cluster of feelings and emotions.

This last month was pretty busy work-wise, but I was able to squeeze in some fun and wanted to blog about some of my favorite things!

New Year’s

I started 2019 out right! I was lucky enough to have some friends over to my apartment on New Year’s Eve to hang out for a while. Then, a little after 11:00pm, Andrew and I made our way down to Seattle where we were able to catch the midnight fireworks at the Space Needle! It’s so refreshing to start the new year off in such a fun way, with so many wonderful people by my side.

Olympic Sculpture Park

Andrew and I recently visited the Olympic Sculpture Park on the Seattle Waterfront and had a great time wandering amongst the art. The park is free and open to the public, which is the cherry on top. Check out my recent blog post about our visit there.

Dick’s Drive-In

This Seattle staple recently celebrated their 65th anniversary by offering $0.19 burgers for the day, the same price that they were sold for when they opened in 1954. I’ve been going to Dick’s for years and it’s one of my favorite places to swing by for some quick food. To me, it’s as Seattle as the Space Needle.

New Apartment Decor

I’ve been in my apartment since October and I’ve purposefully been very choosey about how I want it to look. I didn’t want to rush and fill it with stuff just to say I had it filled. I wanted the space to reflect me. I decided that I wanted there to be some cohesion to my wall decor and decided that “travel” was the right theme. I wanted there to be a warm, comfortable feeling when people were in my apartment and wanted to go decor that gave off that vibe. My mom made me a eucalyptus wreath and I found a circular mirror at Target on sale. I also bought a painting of the Seattle skyline and for Christmas, Andrew got me a Washington decorative sign. I still have a couple things to add to my walls to really finish it off, but I’m pleased where it’s at right now!

What were you loving in January?
