Seattle is known for its coffee, cloudy forecast, and city surrounded by greenery. What the Emerald City should also be known for are their doughnuts! The city is full of shops that provide fresh and flavorful doughnuts, from single storefronts to expanding businesses. Below I review and share six stops and shops that one must visit when they’re in Seattle!

Mighty-O Donuts started out selling at street fairs, festivals, and weekend markets before opening their first bakery and cafe in Wallingford in 2003. They have since expanded to multiple locations with a menu consisting of delicious cake, yeast raised, specialty, and mini donuts.

General Porpoise is a favorite for their custard and cream filled and non-filled donuts. Their sugar-coated baked goods are made with quality ingredients and can be perfectly paired with the rotating selection of coffee.

(On my latest trip to General Porpoise, I was able to get six “reject” doughnuts for $6!)

Daily Dozen is a small stand situated in Pike Place Market and has been a staple there for over 30 years. Their mini doughnuts range from sprinkled, cinnamon sugar, powder, maple, and plain. If you can’t pick one, you can get a dozen assorted!

Top Pot opened their first storefront in Capitol Hill in 2002 and has widened their reach to the rest of Seattle and spots in Washington. They offer multiple classic and fancy doughnut options, as well as seasonal flavors. President Obama even grabbed donuts from Top Pot in 2010 from the Belltown location!
