April Favorites // 2019
My favorite month, come and gone in the blink of an eye! Seriously though, where did April go? Maybe I had so much to look forward to this month that time just sped right past it all. Regardless of time flying by at a breakneck speed, it’s time for my monthly favorites!
My Birthday!
This month, I turned 25! A whole quarter century! My birthday has always meant a lot to me and I try to make it as special as possible. This year, I packed in some activities across the entire week, starting with a massage and the return of Game of Thrones. On my birthday, Andrew and I went to dinner at Serafina’s in Eastlake, followed by dinner the next night at Scott’s Bar and Grill with my family. Saturday, the two of us spent the day at the zoo and ended the night with pool and donuts at The Garage in Capitol Hill with friends. I feel really lucky that I can enter this new year in my life with some great people by my side and new adventures on the horizon.
If you haven’t yet, check out my last blog post where I looked back on my 24th year!
TreeHouse Point
For Andrew’s early birthday, I surprised him with a weekend stay at TreeHouse Point! This peaceful little getaway spot is located in Issaquah and houses six unique treehouses for guests to stay in. We stayed in Bonbibi, a quaint, cozy space that was perfect for the two of us. Neither one of us had an experience quite like TreeHouse Point before and I can not sing its praises enough!
You can find a full rundown of our weekend stay here.
Sing to Me Instead
I have been waiting so impatiently for this! Some may know Ben Platt from his role as Benji in Pitch Perfect and his award-winning run as Evan Hansen in Broadway’s Dear Evan Hansen. I know him as my hopefully future best friend.
I have been a fan of Ben Platt’s for a few years now, consistently impressed by his talent and adorable charm. So I was beyond excited and not surprised at all that he was releasing his debut album, Sing to Me Instead with all original work, and it did not disappoint at all. His songs are powerful and heart-wrenching, all backed by beautiful melodies and rhythms. If you haven’t heard it yet, or really any of his music, you are greatly missing out.
What were you loving in April?
