Cinnamon and Chocolate Chip Banana Bread Recipe
There’s nothing better than spending the fall season cozied up on the couch, the sound of the rain outside, and something fresh baking in the oven. Some of my favorite treats are fall recipes and this year I wanted to try something new! I had a few extra bananas lying around and I wanted to include a couple tasty additions to a typical banana bread.
CINNAMON AND CHOCOLATE CHIP BANANA BREAD
1/2 cup unsalted softened butter
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
4 mashed bananas
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chocolate chips
Preheat oven to 350 degrees and spray a loaf pan with nonstick spray.
Mix together the butter, sugar, and brown sugar with a hand mixer until well combined. Then add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing after each ingredient.
Add the mashed bananas and stir together by hand. Set aside
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and cinnamon.
Add the dry ingredients to the wet ones and mix together until just combined, but not overmixed. Stir in the chocolate chips.
Pour the batter into the loaf pan and bake for 55-60 minutes (test with a toothpick to ensure it is cooked). Remove from the oven and let cool in the pan for ten minutes. Transfer the bread to a wire rack to finish cooling.
