Seattle Summer Festivals

Ballard SeafoodFest

Last year, my parents and I saw an online advertisement for the Ballard SeafoodFest and last minute decided to check it out. This festival stretched multiple blocks in Ballard and we tried food from a few different vendors. Being in Seattle, there are amazing seafood vendors that can cater to whatever you may be craving. The Ballard SeafoodFest also does a great job of showcasing the personality of the Seattle neighborhood.

The Ballard SeafoodFest takes place from July 13-15 on NW Market St. and has FREE entry.

West Seattle Summer Fest

Last year, I was wandering around West Seattle and a boutique owner told me about the West Seattle Summer Fest that was coming up. Last summer, I went to a lot of local festivals and was excited about what the West Seattle one had to offer. There were food and craft vendors lining the main street, with plenty of family-friendly activities.

The West Seattle Summer Fest takes place from July 13-15 on California Ave and has FREE entry.

Bite of Seattle

The Bite of Seattle is one of the city’s most well-known festivals. This food festival takes up most of the space that the Seattle Center sits on and features 60+ food vendors, beer tasting, cooking demonstrations, live bands, and a movie night. As a foodie, this is one of my favorite summertime festivals that Seattle puts on.

The Bite of Seattle takes place from July 20-22 at the Seattle Center and has FREE entry.

Capitol Hill Block Party

The Capitol Hill Block Party is a favorite Seattle festival of many, the three-day festival taking place in the Capitol Hill neighborhood. With indoor and outdoor venues, this festival is known for showcasing local talents while also bringing in mainstream artists and musicians. This year's line-up includes Father John Misty, Brockhampton, Betty Who, Ryan Caraveo, and Cashmere Cat.

The Capitol Hill Block Party takes place from July 20-22 in Captiol Hill and has different entry fees for different days and passes.

Seafair

If you’re from Seattle, then chances are you know what Seafair is. For non-locals, Seafair is a festival that spans weeks and activities. Some of the biggest events are the Torchlight Parade and the Milk Carton Derby. The culmination of all the weeks of events is the Seafair Weekend Festival where you can see hydroplanes race, the Blue Angels fly, and participate in family-friendly activities!

The Milk Carton Derby is July 14 at Green Lake and the Torchlight Parade is July 28 in Downtown Seattle. The Seafair Weekend Festival takes place from August 3-5 at Genesse Park with tickets at different prices depending on the day and ticket variety.

Sunset Supper at the Market

At my previous job, I was lucky enough to work many amazing local events and one of them was Sunset Supper at the Market. Pike Place Market is filled with roughly 100 food and drink vendors that are too good to pass up. With the new additions to the Market, there’s room for more vendors and space for live bands to play.

Sunset Supper takes place on August 17 at Pike Place Market and has a $175 entry fee (food and drinks are included with ticket purchase).

Bumbershoot

Bumbershoot is one of the biggest festivals that Seattle puts on. This three-day music festival features multiple stages and venues for a huge line-up of musicians, comedians, food vendors, and other exciting activities. I was able to score tickets through work last year and saw artists like Lany, Big Sean, Flo Rida, Flume, and even participated in a silent disco!

Bumbershoot takes place from August 31-September 2 at the Seattle Center and has different entry fees for different passes.
