April Favorites // 2018
My favorite month came and went in the blink of an eye. I remember April 1st, tweeting about how my birthday was only a couple weeks away, and now here we are, on the cusp of May. This last month was full of adventure and happy times, so I had plenty of favorites to discuss.
Los Angeles
The weekend before my birthday, my girlfriends and I went down to LA for a little girls getaway. We visited LACMA's "Urban Lights" exhibit, Griffith Observatory, and West Hollywood's Flaming Saddles. We got plenty of photos against colorful backdrops and bought way too expensive smoothies. The best part was that I didn't get sunburnt! It was a nice getaway to start my birthday week off on the right foot and getting to spend that time with some dear friends of mine was such an amazing experience. I did a full recap of our trip to LA for my Getaway Series which you can check out here and made a video of our adventures that you can see here.
My birthday
April is a big month for me because my birthday falls in the middle of it! For those who know me will know that I am a big fan of celebrating my birthday and that feeling has not faded the older I get! I turned 24 this year and was very excited for the entire lead up to my day. I spent the day treating myself to breakfast, got my very first massage, and enjoyed a delicious dinner with my family and boyfriend in Edmonds. It was such a special day and I truly felt the love in all the messages I got from friends and family throughout the day. Of course I did a little birthday post where I looked back on my 23rd year which you can find here.
Tulip Town
One of the great things about living in the Pacific Northwest is the beautiful scenery. Every spring the tulips come out and draw crowds up to Mount Vernon to enjoy them. I've been going up to Tulip Town, one of the more well known areas, since I was a kid and every time I go, I'm amazed by their beauty. This year, my boyfriend and I drove up on a sunny but windy day and spent our time picking out our favorites colors of tulips. If you have not been before, I could not recommend it more.
Avengers: Infinity War
This was a last minute addition. A few days ago, my girlfriends and I went to the theater to see Avengers: Infinity War on opening night. The hype for this movie was unreal and I had been very excited to see it from the moment the first trailer was released. I won't offer any spoilers, but I will say that I went on an emotional roller coaster for the entire duration of the film. It was wild seeing all these characters interacting with each other and on the same screen finally. It's been 10 years and 18 films to get to Infinity War. My girlfriends and I were not prepared for the ending we received and it's going to be excruciating to have to wait till next year for the next Avengers installment.
What were you loving in April?
