Easy DIY Christmas Gift: Coffee Mug Mixers
As somebody who is not rollin’ in the dough, I am always on the lookout for cute, DIY gifts to give people for birthdays and Christmas. One of my favorites has been coasters that I’ve been able to personalize for friends and family, including family photos, pictures of dogs, and my friends’ celebrity crushes. This year, I wanted to do something different that also wouldn’t break the bank. After scouring the interwebs, I found coffee mug mixers and thought, I could totally make those!
I wanted the mixers I made to have a Christmasy feel to them, so I went with marshmallows and crushed up candy canes as toppers. I was able to find 10 spoons for $5 (check your local Dollar Tree or grocery store for inexpensive metal or plastic spoons) and bought a bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips. Then, it was time to assemble!
Overall, I’m really pleased with how the coffee mug mixers turned out. They’re perfect for coffee, cocoa, or any warm beverage you want to add a little flavor to. Even with Christmas right around the corner, you still have time to make these! Check below for the full recipe!
2 cups of semi-sweet chocolate
Bag of marshmallows
Candy canes

Place candy canes in plastic bag and smash until they break into smaller pieces.
Microwave 2 cups of semi-sweet chocolate for 45 seconds.
Mix chocolate chips. Microwave in 15 second intervals and stir vigorously until the consistency is smooth.
Dip spoon into chocolate making sure front and back are completely covered. Slowly spin spoon until chocolate stops dripping off.
