October Favorites // 2017

Happy November everyone! It seems like not only did October fly by, but all of 2017 is flashing right before my eyes! The weather is getting colder, the Pacific Northwest leaves are changing, and the holiday season is quickly approaching. Now that we're diving into a new month, I wanted to touch on some of my favorites from October and what I've been obsessing over!

Sea Salt Caramel Popcorn

My mom came home one day with an accidental grocery purchase. I say accidental because she definitely thought she was buying something else, but instead came home with a big ‘ole bag of Sea Salt Caramel Popcorn. My popcorn-loving taste buds were skeptical, but intrigued. My skepticism proved wrong because this flavor of popcorn is my absolute new favorite. I could go through a whole bag if I could. I even bought a bag and hid it in my room so that I wouldn’t go through it all in one sitting! It’s the perfect snack for anyone with absentminded hands and those looking to try something new and a little different.

Stranger Things 2

I have been impatiently waiting for the second season of Stranger Things 2 since 1. I finished the first season, and 2. Since the first trailer of the new season was released. I’ve been counting down the days till I got to see the kids from Hawkins, Indiana and to see what happened to Eleven after she defeated the demogorgon last season. The second season hit Neflix on Friday October 27th, and by noon on Saturday October 28th, I had finished all 9 episodes. Oops. I’m normally very skeptical of sequels, but this one really knocked my socks off. I loved the character developments, the story line, the shared moments between Dustin and Steve, and every aspect of Eleven’s style progression. I think that the Duffer Brothers did a great job of expanding this world that they created and kept me on my toes the entire time. It was the perfect thing to binge watch as Halloween approached. If you have not yet dabbled into the world of Stranger Things, then what have you been doing with your life???

Harry Styles

Earlier this year, Harry Styles announced that he was going on tour and obviously I had to be there. His first US tour didn’t include a stop in Seattle so I decided that the best show for me to go to would be a weekend show in Phoenix, Arizona. I could get a little sun and see one of my favorite artists live in concert. After months of waiting, my friend Gabby and I finally headed south and saw that beautiful British hunk belt out some tunes. So, not only am I including Harry Styles himself in my October Favorites, but I’m also including his self-titled album that came out this year. He has a very unique sound that many people have been comparing to Bowie because of his lyrics and melodies. Personal favorites: “Meet Me In The Hallway”, “Two Ghosts”, and “Kiwi”. Feel free to check out my blog post from my weekend getaway here and my video from my Arizona travels here.

My Halloween Costume

When it comes to Halloween costumes, I’m a good planner, but have poor execution. To elaborate, I usually come up with good ideas for costumes, but don’t start working on it or shopping until the week before or so. By then, everything’s been picked through at Goodwill and  my available time to dedicate to putting together an outfit is pretty limited. This year, I’ve been brainstorming and I came up with the idea of getting a group of girlfriends together and being the Spice Girls! And it actually worked! My mom found a dress a month prior that would work for me going as Ginger Spice and my friends all were able to put together costumes that perfectly represented their Spice Girl. I did a quick paint job on a cheap pair of boots and after that, costume complete! I couldn’t do my October Favorites without including my costume this year!

What have you been loving this October?
