August Favorites // 2018
With August coming to an end, it really feels like we are saying goodbye to summer. It feels like this month and this season just flew by. Soon we'll be breaking out the sweaters as the leaves start changing! But before that happens, I need to recap my favorites from August!
Summer 2018
Even though summer doesn't technically end till September 21st, the end of August just seems to have a mark of closure for another season in the sun. This summer I got a job, left a job, got a new job, traveled, watched lots of movies, took a one second video every single day, attended multiple Mariners games, and nearly coughed up a lung thanks to all the Seattle smoke. Summer 2018 was overall fairly eventful and thus, deserves its rightful spot on my August Favorites list.
Micah Pointed-Toe Loafers
My new job has a professional dress code, so that meant shopping for me! I needed some pieces that were a little more business appropriate and thankfully came out of it with some great new purchases. One of my favorites are these tan Micah pointy loafers from brand A New Day, of course from Target. These shoes are great for any casual or professional outfit and are so comfortable to walk in. This is the first time I've started branching out to pointier flats and loafers, as opposed to a rounded tip shoe, and I am so happy to add these to my wardrobe!
High Trek Adventures
Last weekend, I joined my boyfriend's family for an afternoon at High Trek Adventures in Everett. This "aerial adventure park" contains a high ropes course and a couple ziplines. It took me about 10-15 minutes to feel comfortable being that high off the ground, but once I started to trust my gear and myself, I started really having fun! I felt like I was on American Ninja Warrior, balancing on wooden platforms and zipping through the air.
Bubble Run
For the last couple of years, I have participated in Everett's Bubble Run, a 5k with check points full of colorful bubbles. This year, I convinced my mom to join me for this fun run again (she did it with me two years ago, but sat out to cheer me on last year) and like every time before, this event did not disappoint. My mom and I stuck together through the whole race, not stopping once! My dad and Tanner even came along to cheer us on from the sidelines. As my mom and I were coming down the last 100-200 feet stretch, Tanner got so excited that he ran out onto the course and finished the race with us!
What were you loving in August?
