December Favorites // 2017

It's the end of the month which means it's time for favorites! This month has mainly been consisted of these two items and I'm so excited to continue gushing about all of my favorites and obsessions next year in 2018!

Dear Evan Hansen soundtrack

In my November Favorites post, I highlighted Ben Platt who originated the title role in the Broadway musical Dear Evan Hansen. I gushed about his talent, his charm, and his endearing personality. Since then, my little Ben Platt cut-out has worked his way into becoming a permanent fixture in my home, joining me for lighting the menorah during Hanukkah and propped up between oranges on our fruit dish. So yeah, I kind of love him.

It’s really no surprise then that the soundtrack to Dear Evan Hansen was on my Christmas list this year. Lo and behold, I got it! I was very excited when I pulled it out from a Christmas bag and it’s already the only thing I listen to when I get in my car. I'm not even kidding when I say I cry every time I listen to the songs. I thought I loved Ben Platt’s voice before, but now physically having the soundtrack just makes me appreciate his talent even more! And the music and lyrics courtesy of Pasek and Paul (La La Land, The Greatest Showman) just really bring this show to a whole other level. They won Best Original Score at the Tony Awards for this show, so yeah, it’s pretty damn fantastic.

Dez Lace-Up Winter Boots

Like the viral video of 2006, I love shoes. My closet is full of shoes I wear consistently, shoes I wear on certain occasions, shoes I've never touched, and shoes I've forgotten I have. So it's no surprise that when I go shopping, I find myself gravitating towards the shoe departments, especially at Target. Add that to reasonable prices and fall inspired footwear, and it's a recipe for disaster for me.

Recently I was wandering through Target, determined to only buy what I had come there for (I know, how stupid of me), when I saw the cutest pair of Dez Lace-Up boots in light brown. Seeing as I didn't currently own a pair of boots in that style, I quickly found myself trying on a pair and purchasing them. And they've been such a good investment. Not only do they go with a lot of the clothes I already have, but they also have proven useful in the recent Seattle snow.
