A Brand New Start
What up internet? Nice to see you again.
It has been a hot minute since I've dabbled in the blogging world. During my first year of college, I started a blog to create a space where I could discuss what interested me and what was going on in my life. I reviewed new albums, discussed YouTubers that I liked, and shared updates on what was going on in my life. I hit the ground running so hard and so quickly that I found myself blogging 6-7 days a week. I even designated specific topics for different days of the week. Tubey Tuesday, What I Love Wednesday, Five Song Friday. I was 18-years-old at the time, cut me some slack on those lackluster names. My first two years of college, I was pretty dedicated to my blog and getting content out there. But as time continued, I found that I was having less and less time to really sit down at my computer and write about topics that meant something to me. Between jobs, internships, school, and my social life, my blog was becoming a back burner priority. My content was holding fewer substance and the time between my posts were becoming greater. Before I knew it, I had gone months without visiting my blog.
When I graduated college in June, I was left to contemplate what direction I wanted my life to go in. As I began embarking on job interviews and getting ready to face the infamous "real world", I was left with many crippling and difficult thoughts that I wasn't sharing with people. I found myself wishing I had a place, again, where I could discuss what was going on in my life.
This transition in my life sparked my interest to get back into blogging. As an English major, obviously I love to write, but beyond that, I wanted a space again where I could discuss what I was going through, what was interesting me, and what I thought. I also wanted to be able to share that with an audience, in hopes that either people could connect with it or be introduced to the type of work I could produce. I'm ready to get back into this world and with a new start comes a new blog.
This blog will continue to be a place where I discuss my interests, whether those be new films, my travels, or the fact that Harry Styles looks great with a haircut, and updates on my life, such as the job hunt process, my New Year's resolutions, or my process of bettering myself. I will provide access to my old blog, for anybody interested in seeing the work of a frazzled, bubbly young adult. I'm hoping that with this brand new start, I can start figuring myself out again and start this life transition off positively.
My goal for this blog is to post at least once a month. If I do more, go me! With all that being said, welcome to my new journey!
